After reading Colossians Chapter 3 tonight my question is: Is it impossible to live in such a way (holy)?
I am thinking that yes it is impossible, on our own. But God is gracious and kind. He doesn’t will for anyone to persish or live a part from him. He desires to draw us close to him. We have a part to play. We have to set our mind to living holy. In verse nine I am struck by the word “lie.” Satan is the father of lies and yet we ourselves lie to our own selves by rationalizing and making exceptions for what is really still sin. Thankfully we are able to have good things in our lives—love, peace, praise, wisdom…
When we live for God, we won’t be perfect but we can know there will be rewards for living for him.
I want to focus on what I can do….in Christ….rather than thinking about the impossible.
