“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” – Praise is active
“How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!” Praise recognizes who God is
“He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.” Praise recognizes what God has done
“He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved.” Praise is accepting and being thankful for what God has made for us because of his love
“God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” We praise because our God is an active King over all. He is not idle and he is not selective in who can follow him
“The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.” Pray for our nations’ leaders that they will seek the Lord and recognize HIM as LORD over all
For reflection and study…
Is my praise more quiet and in my heart or am I expressive and vocal?
What has God done for me that deserves my praise? What characteristic of God can I most praise him for at this point in my life?
Is God “ascend[ing] amid” MY shouts of joy, sounding of trumpets, and songs of praise?Do I recognize God has the one true KING, over all and on his throne?
Do I exalt the KING?
